Option 1: With Invisible Zipper
Option 2: No Zipper

These cute, trendy bib overalls can be styled up or down to suit your mood. Sized well enough to fit a T-shirt or comfy Turtle neck underneath. And are you ready to up your sewing game and attempt a zipper? This class is perfect for a confident beginner ready for a challenge or two. You will learn to install an invisible zipper by doing a practice one in class before you sew one into your overalls. We’ll use your basic sewing skills as well as teach you to create a comfy interfaced back waist and perfect pockets.

We will take time in the Preparation Class on 4/9 to make sure you get measured for a good fit and help you choose full-length or cropped. These overalls make up beautifully in a solid shot cotton or in a Tim Holtz neutral. And of course blue chambray will give you a more traditional overalls look. Pockets can be contrasting fabric, or use the same for an uninterrupted line. Go bold with a Tula, Anna Maria, or Odile print, sweet with a tiny Tilda floral, or fun with Alexander Henry or Cori Dantini.

You will succeed in class if you have a working knowledge of basic sewing skills such as measurement, seams, pinning, ironing, and laughing! If you’ve taken a class from Dianna in the past, you know that she enjoys spending time finding fabrics that work with your body, your hair color, and your skin tone. If you hate choosing fabric because you’re ‘just not sure, then this is your place! The collective wisdom of the class will help you select the perfect fabric for the effect you’re looking for.

For the Prep Class on April 9th, do NOT Bring Your Sewing Machine. You WILL need your Burnside Bibs Pattern, available at 5LM. Bring paper scissors, a tape measure and something for taking notes. In the prep class, we will discuss and help you finalize the following: Pattern Review, Your Measurements and Size Fabric, 2 Invisible Zippers, Interfacing, Turning Tool, and Thread Fabric Length Requirements - We will adjust if your fabric has directionality.

Your homework will be to wash, straighten, and iron your fabric before class. You will also need to prepare your pattern for use. Add a new needle, thread, and make sure your machine is in working condition before class. Reviewing the written instructions also helps!

For the Saturday Class on April 20th, arrive with your machine tuned and ready to go. Bring your pattern, fabric, craft scissors or your rotary cutter, pins, tape measure, fabric marking device, fabric, thread, and elastic.
